[photopress:hilongardeninn.jpg, full, alignright]Hilton Hotels, RREEF and the private equity firm H&Q Asia Pacific are together forming an alliance to introduce more than twenty service hotels across China. The idea is RREEF and H&Q will acquire, develop and convert sites for around 5,000 new rooms and these will be marketed under Hilton’s Garden Inn brand.
Hilton will provide expertise in site selection, development, training, operations support, brand management and marketing. Locations being considered for the hotels include Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and key urban centres within the Yangtze River Delta and Bohai Bay regions.
How does this brand differ from other Hiltons?
In a sense it is a style of hotel dictated by the customer. Numerous surveys were carried out and he brand focuses on what guests have said they need and want most while traveling.
Which is basically quality accommodations, amenities and services in a comfortable atmosphere. On Garden Inn’s so far this has included a complimentary, 24-hour business center. Each guest room features an ergonomic chair, oversized work desk plus two telephones each with two phone lines, complimentary high-speed internet access, and secure remote printing. All sound thinking as any business traveler will attest.
Then there is a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker in every guestroom. And guest can stay healthy in the complimentary swimming pool, whirlpool, and workout facility available at every property. There is a convenience mart which sells snacks and sundry items 24-hours a day at every location.
Whether all of these facilities will be brought to China is not yet certain but a quick informal survey of fellow business travelers said they would automatically select any hotel offering such services
