India accuses China of dumping silk

Indian trade officials ruled in March that China was dumping low-cost silk in India and a final order against the imports would be issued by the commerce ministry in April, said P Joy Oommen, the secretary of India's central silk board.

China was alleged by India to have dumped silk at prices ranging between US$12 and US$18 per kilogram, causing domestic prices to fall, until an interim order was issued in December last year.
