Microsoft Corp struck a 50-50 venture with Shanghai Alliance Investment Ltd to launch MSN China before summer and made its first acquisition in China, buying R&D assets from Shenzhen-based mobile software developer TSSX Mobile, according to media reports. Microsoft said the venture, Shanghai MSN Network Communications Technology Co, has been granted a nationwide value-added license and expects to generate revenue mainly through online advertising and wireless value-added services. The JV partners declined to disclose the JV investment.
