We’ve got a new president, now can we get a suitable Obama-themed drink? The Beijing expat crew gathered last night at local watering hole the Saddle to watch the inauguration of President Obama. Sadly, the Saddle strayed from its core competencies (margaritas) and offered a truly vile concoction named for the new President (rum, coke, kahlua). Details of the “solemn event” can be found at the Global Post blog, written by their Beijing correspondent Josh Chin. Needless to say, the Saddle’s Democrat-leaning clientele were feeling the love last night.
But others weren’t quite feeling it. Check here for details on how state media took liberties with the translation of Obama’s speech.
