Public recruitment at SOEs

Breaking with the usual practice of appointing general managers, two of China's largest central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) will open their most senior position to the public, including foreign applicants, state media reported, citing a State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) spokesman. China Worldbest Group, one of China's largest pharmaceutical and textile companies, and the China Academy of Building Research will recruit their GMs from outside and another 13 SOEs are slated to similarly widen their recruiting efforts.
