Lee Bo, one of five booksellers who disappeared from Hong Kong late last year only to reappear on the mainland in apparent detainment, has returned to the territory, The New York Times reported, citing a statement from Hong Kong police. The statement also claimed Lee had told Hong Kong authorities that he had “returned to the mainland by his own means voluntarily and it was not an abduction,” was “free and safe” while on the mainland, and asked them to drop his missing persons case. Two other men also associated with Mighty Current Media – publisher of salacious tell-alls about China’s top leaders, including President Xi Jinping – remain missing.
